Upcycled organic silk scarf hand painted by Jedda Daisy Culley for Tartan. A scarf that was once a pair of harem pants.
"My practice creates colourful, figurative paintings that often investigate the female experience and themes surrounding sex, motherhood, and objectification. Rendered in shade-shifting palettes of pink, purple, blue, and more, depicting fragmented representations of the female form. My loose, energetic strokes imbue my paintings with a sense of vivacity. It's important to me that my works appear to have been painted quickly to capture my subjects' swelling emotions and unpredictable movements."
Due to the hand painted processes and techniques used in the making of this piece of wearable art all irregularities and markings are intentional parts of this unique design. Artwork and colouring may differ from featured photographs. The artwork is intended to fade, soften and adapt over time. We recommend gentle hand washing when absolutely necessary. Do not soak, wring or bleach.
