Comme Des Garçons Girl Autumn Winter 2025 celebrates the work of Japanese artist Mao Yoshino.
Born in Aichi, Japan, Yoshino is a graduate of the Tokyo University of Arts/Crafts. Mao co founded the creative studio MELTedMEADOW and is praised for for her bold work on the YAMANOTE LINE MUSEUM where she transformed the train line into an art museum and creative space.
Mao says "Ever since I was little, I wanted to convey something to people, so I drew pictures and gave them as gifts. After that, I felt words couldn’t express what I wanted to say. Now, I think I subconsciously knew that painting was the way to express what I wanted to say."
She describes her aesthetic "Like a rock. And like mist. Like waves. And like the earth. It belongs to no one and is unstable. Her inspiration "Joy, love and hatred when interacting with people. Everything."
